Born and raised in Sutton Coldfield UK, Nathan grew up surrounded by a musical family. His father, Alan, was a drummer in the 1960's performing with the likes of Gerry Levine and The Avengers whose claim to fame was supporting The Beatles back in the day.
Even though Nathan has dabbled on the drums and guitar, the piano is where he feels more comfortable as a songwriter. Growing up his influences ranged from Randy Newman, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, John Lennon, Jellyfish and
Ben Folds Five. Piano-based music with a real melody!
Writing and recording since the mid 1990’s, Nathan has penned over 200 songs - some getting better exposure than others such as the track 'Let It Go' which went on to feature in the movie 'In A Man's World'. This was distributed across the UK and Europe. Virgin Records Instore Magazine voted it as 'Single Of The Month too in 2006.
Another of his songs 'Join Together' was voted in the top 20 best unsigned songs through UK's TalkSport Radio. In Jan 2011, his song 'Vancouver' was licensed and distributed through Universal Australia on a CityLove Compilation CD. Nathan also played keys and sang BV's on a Tsunami single which reached No.30 in the UK Indie Charts as featured on BBC Radio 1.
He has released 4 albums - all produced by himself including the debut album 'Arrivals & Departures' (2008), 'Piano & Voice' (2010), 'Branches' (2012) and the latest offering 'Volume One' (2016).
To promote these albums he has continuously toured notching up support slots to Midge Ure (Sold-out tour), Dan Smith (Bastille), John Power (The LA's), Edwina Hayes, Grace, Alistair Cowan and Phil Bates (ELO). Ellie Goulding once supported him at The Bedford in London but that's another story!
Alongside the solo work, he still occasionally performs with Coventry singer-songwriter Malc Evans - under the duo name Beneva. Their debut album 'I'll Say Just What I Mean' was promoted by USA label Catz Go Round Records and saw them go out on the road to promote it supporting the likes of The Feeling, Air Traffic, Wheatus, Baz Warne (The Stranglers), Nizlopi, FO Machete, Caroline Alexander and Captain.
More recently, Nathan found himself playing for other artists as a session keyboard player for the likes of Enrique Iglesias promoting the singles ‘I’m A Freak' and 'Tonight I'm Loving You' on BBC1's The Voice, C4's Alan Carr’s Chatty Man and ITV1's Loose Women). Other session work includes Anastacia, Sarah Whatmore (BBC1 Alan Titchmarsh), Ginger Wildheart (supporting Pete Doherty) and a UK tour with USA outfit Antiproduct.
Session work also saw him join local band Zeros And Ones who supported acts such as Editors, The Twang, Shed Seven and The Mock Turtles. He has also worked alongside some fine musicians including those from Snow Patrol, The Defiled, The Quireboys and Fuzzbox. In 2014, Nathan toured with The Stranglers/Mike Marlin for their full 02 Academy UK tour and then into Europe across all of France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Czech, Austria and Switzerland.
Onto 2019....Nathan started the year supporting Hue & Cry at a sold out show at The Robin 2, Bilston UK. Expect lots more gigs and a new album of songs this year!
